Original title: Strasbourg adjudicated against SPO and PPO in the case of Pancevski

The ex-President of the Basic Court Skopje 1, Judge Vladimir Pancevski, on his Facebook profile posted an information that the Court in Strasbourg has accepted his legal suit against the Public Prosecutor Office (PPO). In his FB status, he points out that this is his second legal suit against North Macedonia. His first suit was against the Special Prosecutor Office (SPO).

The portal publishes a fake news, equalizing the acceptance of the application with judgment.

The headline is a fake news. The fact that the application is considered for processing, does not mean that the same is grounded. The notification from the Court that the application will be taken for further review, under no circumstances means that a judgement is made.

The usual time for processing of applications in this Court lasts for more than a year, and the practice shows that sometimes it can last even longer, up to 2-3 years.

Additional information on the work and jurisdiction, as well as the procedures of the European Court for Human Rights in Strasbourg can be found here.
